I'd go ahead and ask him/her. Let them know that you're willing to helpthem out any way that you can in exchange for hunting rights. I've baled hay, mended fences, picked rock. Sometimes a meal or two of fresh fish will get you on. If you have a son or daughter that will hunt with you bring them along. Anything to show that you will be responsible and respectful of the owner's property while on it.

There's a place like that here, I just hunt next to it, and try to get them when they come out of it. But my spot is also fairly good, and attracts deer too.

in the next few weeks you need to go talk to the land owner.don't wait till the season comes.stop by and talk every so often, see if he needs help or anything.
the sooner you go the better.
it that doesn't work, try to plant and do all you can to bring them over to your land.
I am not a hunter I am a whitetail population reduction specialest
remember keep your back to the sun, your knife sharp, and your powder dry.

We have the same situation. You have to hunt your property very carefully. If you can avoid spooking the deer off your land, you can have some good hunting after the first day.

I'd suggest trying to lease it. If no one hunts it it's probably not because no one has asked. Maybe a few dollars would change the landowners attitude.

I'd say go right out and ask him. I have a feeling a guy my dad works with is trying to buddy up to him so that he can hunt our land. So I say walk up to the door, and just ask politely. If he says no, respect that and leave him alone. He just might not want hunters shooting right by his house.

I agree, just be nice. It shocks the hell out of people sometimes!
But, realize that there are many people out there that are 100% against hunting, for any one of 1000 reasons. Sometimes you have to accept the inevitable.
