where i hunt we only build permanent stands. you only need some pallets, some felt, some 2x4' s or 4x4s and a piece of plywood or metal siding for a roof. if you want more info email me [email protected]

I built two and then realized the material cost and my time was more expensive than purchasing them. I have bought several Rivers Edge Bandit chain ons for $35 at the local Fleet Farm. I can make it a " deluxe" strap on model for $10 more. I also bought a Rivers Edge ladder stand for my kids to use for $65 from Fleet Farm. I now spend my stand building time hunting instead.

I just took one of my 4x8 ice fishing shacks that has a mettal roof on it. Camoed the darn thig, cut shooting slots the length of the four sides. The slaots have doors to close when absent or raining. Complete with windows. We just btowed it into place on a 50 foot cliff overlooking a river and a 15 acre island.
This is for my retired father. Would be awesome if he shoots something out of it. Opening day of rifle season is Saturday.
