15 feet is plenty.

If I can get up 40 or 50 feet and still see good, that is where I go. The key is visibility.

well my bow stands are set at minimum 15 feet and they have walls on em to cover most movement. but go no lower than 15 if bowhunting. rifle you might as well go up around 20 or so less chance of being detected.

The base of my stand is probably up around 18 feet or so. I don' t like heights too much, but as the season moves along I find myself capable of getting higher and higher. I' ve seen some hunters WAAAAY up there. Bottom line, I' d say as long as you are up 13 feet or higher and have a decent backdrop or camofluaged, you will be OK. Remember that safety harness!

I always hunt between 15 and 20 feet up.

I do not go igher then 20 feet. I am too big to get up too high.
