Default Stand Height

How high does everyone generally hang their stands? I like to be at least 17 ft up, but Im thinking about maybe 20 this year.

Yup.

My honey hole stand is up 22 feet, 20 foot ladder sticks and two branches...

When I use my climber, I climb until I feel my bow come off the ground on the end of my 25' tow rope....if the landscape, terrain and foliage allow.

Usually around 25ft, sometimes I venture to 30ft. Then I run out of rope pulling my bow up or Id probably go a little higher.

Heights is my weakness, but I try and go 20. My one ladder stand is only 16 though.

Dont like heights myself, I have 5 ladder styands, and the highest one is only about 11'. I know it would be better to be higher, but I have been hunting 4 years, and have 3 bow kills to my name, so it can be done. And I have passed on many deer that had no idea that I was there. Just make sure that you have lots of back cover. NO point in going any higher, if you wont be able to move when you see a deer becouse you are scared crapless.[&:]

What ever it takes, I have two good stands and enough climbing sticks to get a maximun of 32 ft. each.
So depending on the terrain , I like to be anywhere around 20 to 30 ft. up.
