One thing I was worried about when I unpacked it was the noise of the strap that houses the brake release cable. It is under a velcro cover. It makes noise when you handle the harness when it is not on. As soon as you put it on and tighten everything up, it quiets right down. All the buckles get covered by an elastic sleeve that keeps them in place and quiet. The other good ting about it is you can repack the rope if you ever fall and need to use it. All other harnesses are done after one fall. Not that I plan on falling multiple times, LOL!

When I was younger I didn't think anything would ever happen to me. As I am gerting older, I think about what could happen more. I just like the idea of being able to lower myself out of the tree if I ever fall.

I really like this harness. It is a little pricey, but worth my safety.
Thanks for the reply. I plan to add one by next hunting season. As to the price, when compared to the vest style harnesses it is not that much more.

When you get it let me know what you think of it. It will probably be after Christmas before I can afford to get one.

to be honest..I'm still thinking about it..I plan to get one..but our season is over Dec.30th anyway..I don't like what the man said about a noisy brake..and a 6 pound vest..My seat of the pants harness is probably 2 pounds.

I'm thinking the same way. Our season is over Jan 1st, so I may keep researching. My main concern is how will 30 feet of rope coiled up near the small of my back feel when sitting in the stand? I have tried the HSS vest a couple years ago and did not like them for the bulk/weight and how the leg straps felt. I shudder to think what they would crush in the case of a fall.

Have you ever considered a tree descender from Summit?

Sorry, I have been out hunting.

I have not carried a climber while also having the harness on. We are using all lock-on and ladder stands at the moment. I have carried a backpack filled with all my heavy clothes and a coat bunged to the back of the pack with it on and it was very comfortable.

Yes, the rope is pre-packed. I have not tried to fall out of a tree with it on.

The rope sits higher on your back, right between your shoulder blades. As I said I where my heavy coat over it. I was out this morning with it on and to be honest I don't even know I have it on when I'm in stand.

Hope I was able to help. I would buy it again after using it.
