If ya got a climber you will probably need to carry the harness...another drag..
A friend of a friend fell from about 12 feet several years ago and messed his legs, ankles, knees, and back up pretty bad. He was over 300 pounds at the time.

Yeah, I was going to buy one of these before the season started but held off due to money. Maybe before next season. Sound like a good concept.

I was well over 300 lbs seven months ago and I'm about 255 now, so I want to get to my weight loss goal before I buy anything else that requires a size.

I'm 42 and have started looking at things somewhat different now myself. If you go to this link there are some pretty good videos of the Rescue One.

Yeah, I have a lot more room in my Summit Titan than I did last year.

Good luck to you on your weight loss!

1. Not sure of the exact weight but it doesn't feel heavier than the Vest harness I previously used. 2. Not bulky at all for me, i wear it on the outside of my light jacket in archery and just under my heavy jacket in gun season. 3. One thing I was worried about when I unpacked it was the noise of the strap that houses the brake release cable. It is under a velcro cover. It makes noise when you handle the harness when it is not on. As soon as you put it on and tighten everything up, it quiets right down. All the buckles get covered by an elastic sleeve that keeps them in place and quiet. The other good ting about it is you can repack the rope if you ever fall and need to use it. All other harnesses are done after one fall. Not that I plan on falling multiple times, LOL!

When I was younger I didn't think anything would ever happen to me. As I am gerting older, I think about what could happen more. I just like the idea of being able to lower myself out of the tree if I ever fall.

I really like this harness. It is a little pricey, but worth my safety.

QUESTIONS fOR YA WHITE TAIL

1. Does the harness come pre packed with the rope?

2. Does carrying a climber harm the vest?

3.Have you tried to use your harness yet in falling?

Thanks ?

Don't mean to be answering for white-tail-deer but I was just looking at the official website so I will answer.
Yes, it does come with the rope pre-packed. Also comes with an instructional DVD. Look at the first bullet in the following link:
www.mountaineer-sports.com/rescueone.php

In the link I gave a few posts above, there is a short movie clip on how to repack the rope after practicing.
