I have not carried a climber while also having the harness on. We are using all lock-on and ladder stands at the moment. I have carried a backpack filled with all my heavy clothes and a coat bunged to the back of the pack with it on and it was very comfortable.

Yes, the rope is pre-packed. I have not tried to fall out of a tree with it on.

The rope sits higher on your back, right between your shoulder blades. As I said I where my heavy coat over it. I was out this morning with it on and to be honest I don't even know I have it on when I'm in stand.
