I bought a new 700BDL last in .243 cal. I shot a 700 in .270 cal for about 35 years and just got tired of the kick and decided I wanted something else. You will love your new gun and by the way, there is nothing wrong with the new 700s.

We have a 700 BDL .270 in the safe. My 5'3" 130 lb g/f uses it. She often shoots it from the bench, and I have never heard her complain about recoil. The .270 is a rather mild recoiling caliber, and LOL I am not inclined to load light loads.

700's are great rifles whether they are new or old. I bought this one in 270 Win a couple years ago and it has been a fantastic rifle. It started life as a CDL but now wears a Remington laminate. It feels right in my hands, is accurate, and the fit and finish was excellent.
