Default Took GF hunting part 2

I took her again I made a post about our hunt 2 weeks ago this week was some what better not so cold but it did rain on us this time thanks to the reminders from the guys who posted on my other thread I remembered to bring extra clothes...we sat their in the rain about 2 minutes and it stopped than the deer moved hard 4 does came out and so did a little 4 point she was alot calmer this time than last week...i had to calm her down she was shaking like a leaf...we watched them for a hour than they walked into the woods so we left for the day...
we went again this morning and immediatly we saw a 6 point so she was pumped at first light!we sat down in a blind and waited 5 minutes a 5 point came out and she was ready she raised the gun up and hit him real good behind the shoulder so we got out found ALOT of blood but as we were trailing him we saw him 150 yards out in a field so we came back home to get some food we are going back to get him in a few minutes she shot him about 30 minutes ago feels more exciting than when I killed my first...she is setting beside me asking "When are we going to get him" I better go before we both stroke out

AWSOME HUNT by the way gonna go find him now

I'm a little pumped myself! Not to rain on your parade, but I'd be a little worried after taking the shot, then seeing him out 150 yards away in a field. He should have been down in seconds by listening to the description of the shot. Anyway, can't wait to hear the outcome. Keep us posted for sure.

I'm very glad you found your/her buck! Congrats. I must say, I'm not sure I've ever heard of a buck going 150yrds after a heart shot from a gun?

Sounds like if you would have stopped and stared another few seconds, you would have watched him topple over!

Great job! Nice shot. Can't wait to hear the details.

We had been in the blind about 50 minutes on the first post I said 5 minutes....anyways I had seen that same buck a little bit earlier I am pretty sure but I wasnt sure so I didnt want to get her hopes up so I kept quite. We had 3 does out 40 yards in front of us and we were hearing what we thought were squirels behind us in some thick crap so we really didnt pay much attention after 3 minutes of listining to the elegid squirrel the "Squirrel"which was really the 5 point comes out...she saw it first and got my attention with her really deep breath's.....he was facing us for 10 minutes and I kept tellen her to wait...she was about to shoot it anyway when he finally found a doe to his liking and turned sideways I told her to get the gun up and put it behind his shoulder so she does really carefully...she takes the gun of safety and before I say O.K. she shoots he does a rear leg kick and as she sees him run off she amost crys and I see this and say "You got him!!"that scared the remaning deer away...so she screams we immediatly look for blood we trailed him 30 yards than I look up and see and deer in the field I told her it was him and told her we were going to give him time and eat something than come back(she didnt like that AT ALL!!)...we just got him worked up and we cut the horns off she is still here she wanted me to specify that it was a great shot!!anyways that is the story...I still think I am more excited than her!

6 years ago I shot a big spike through the heart, in fact the heart was nowhere to be found in the cavity, with a .30/06. That deer ran almost 250 yard before it piled up. It was a large clearcut in NH, and I watched him run. I thought to myself maybe I missed him. So I went to where he was standing when I shot him, and the blood trail was as wide as a city sidewalk, from impact point to where he dropped was all blood a blind man could have found him. He was running on pure adrenalin I would think.
