thank you crenshaw. i have no problem with people stopping and looking, but when you stop and shoot and i'm in the woods, it's dangerous, it's lazy, and it really pisses me off because as i said i've invested a lot of time and money into my location.

All you guys who are witness to these road, slob hunters, etc should turn them into the game warden. In my opinion.

Even setting up 40yrds from a road on the ground is illegal in most of Ontario. We can't shoot across a road or even discharge a firearm within 50yrds of one. I don't mind those laws, but they still get broken.

We have a couple of large unposted alfalfa fields near my house. I occasionally hunt back there and am concerned the farmer will post the property because lazy road hunters drive all over the fields. Before the season I put up a sign at the edge of the field openings asking that people not drive on the fields. 2 days after I did it I was coming home and saw a truck coming down out of the field and drive right around the signs. Lazy slob hunters are out there even in Vermont. I'll talk with the farmer and next year hopefully there will be a large log blocking both access points. Since they are so lazy they probably wouldn't want to get their fat asses out of their trucks to move them.[:@]

Deleted for skirting the profanity filter, violation of posting rule number 1.

You want to do away with drivin around shootin deer out of the truck? Do away with hi powered rifle hunting. Thats the one thing these folks all have in common is their weapon of choice.

I don't understand people on this site. Some douche came on here the other day bragging about a 1300 yard shot and a lot of people here congratulated him. What's more unethical, driving around shooting deer out of a truck or making 1300 yard shots at a deer. Same difference to me.

There's ZERO sport in rifle hunting so to all you folks who rifle hunt you deserve your fellow rifle hunters chasing your deer around in trucks. I can't tell you how many rifle hunting **** I've seen driving the roads and driving down creeks and edges. And you wonder why people who don't rifle hunt don't like rifle hunters.
I hear what your saying Betterbirddogs. I am not a huge rifle hunter and I typically only use mine out west where i think a rifle is a must in some cases. But where i hunt whitetails its just not necessary at all. In fact i think it does more harm then good where i hunt.

Well since shooting out of a truck or from the road on land they have no right to hunt is illegal (poaching) and shooting a deer at 1350 yards on land he had permission on and had the right equipment and skills to do so isn't illegal....I'd say the first is alot more "unethical" It doesn't matter if you make it illegal to hunt with a rifle or not. These people are already breaking the law by killing deer (poaching) driving along and seeing and shooting deer on other peoples property. Why would they care what weapon they use. Oh maybe because you made it more illegal? Sorry that argument holds up just like anti-gun laws that are supposidly inteded to stop crime because now the gun they use to rob a store or murder someone is illegal.....Do you realy think I guy who intends to rob a store will think "I was going to rob that store but If I use this gun it would be wrong" They don't care!

There is a huge differnce between a guy legaly hunting and someone poaching. So call it what it is. Not Road Hunting, Poaching!

You can't be serious. The population of animals would explode and reek havoc on property, vehicles, etc,not to mention disease. I don't agree with you on the sporting issue. I rifle hunt, bow hunt, muzzle loader hunt, andpistol hunt. I also reload all my bullets and make my own lead balls for my black powder guns. I also spend a lot of time at the range to hone my shooting skills. If these slob hunters would beturned in to the authorities, it wouldn't eliminate the problem but I believe it would make a big difference. Most of these posts are about watching slob hunters and not much about doing what it takes to help stop them. As always this is just my opinion.

I can't agree with this bit of wizdom. I hunt with bow, smoke pole, small game hunt and yes hunt with rifle or shotgun. I hunt deer, caribou and elk for large game. To make a statement like that makes me confident I wouldn't want to hunt with you.
