Default shotgun scope...??

I have a quick question. I currently have a red dot on my shotgun and I am wanting to upgrade to a scope with some magnification since my eyes arent what they used to be. What do you guys recommend?

Does it have a rifled barrel?

I use a 1.5-4x40 when I hunt in our thick woods, and a 3-9x40 for field edges. My muzzleloader has a 4-12x40.

No rifled barrel at the moment, but looking to upgrade to a cantilever rifled barrel soon as well

I just bought a Nikon Slugmaster. It has the BDC reticle like their Omega scopes for muzzleloaders. I really like it. Very clear and crisp. However, I have not ranged it to test the BDC reticle to see how accurate it is.

I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a shotgun scope so I picked up a simple 2x mag scope and it works for me...

Are you looking for a scope to put on the rifled barrel you're planning to get or your current barrel?
