over hunted.
how long does it take the deer to return to an over hunted site?
seems every year late in the season i manage to overhunt at least one stand out of the many i have.
so this year i am thinking i might just let stands i may have overhunted sit for awhile and then hunt them right at the end of the season and see what happens.
how long should i wait? a few days, a week, more??

RE: over hunted.
I'd let it go for a couple of weeks if possible. I guess it really depends on the extent of over hunting! Over hunted? Spooked deer? Too many hunters in the general area?
In my area, hunters hunt hard through Thanksgiving weekend. Then we have the woods to ourselves the rest of the season, which runs into January here.
Usually, for two to three weeks after Thanksgiving you'd swear there are no deer within 100 miles! Then a combination of less hunting pressure and unbred does comming back into estrus, presto! They are bacK! For several years now, my group has been taking or at least seeing good deer up to the last day of the season! Good luck!
