What makes a shooter buck "to you"?

Bigger than what I got on the wall (my first buck was a little 4 pointer when I was 14 and he's a wall hanger right now). I don't get to hunt as much as I'd like, so that plays a role in this as well. In the beginning of the season, smaller stuff gets a free pass. I mean, of course I want a mature deer. But as the season wanes, my standards get lower. I have no problems taking a spike on the last day of the season if a shot at a doe doesn't present itself. They're all trophies in their own right.

Any mature buck. I was fortunate enough to kill a pretty good buck a couple of years ago, that I will probably never top (19 points, 173 4/8 net nontypical), so.... if I wait for something bigger I may never kill another deer. I have killed 8 pointers that I was just as proud of because I had to hunt a lot harder for them....

Here's a young 8 pointer that I passed on this afternoon.

That picture makes him look a little bigger than hereally is.I'm pretty sure this is the same deer a few weeks ago on one ofmygame cameras.

He is for sure 1.5 years old. I have pictures of him with his momma earlier this year before he had this years fawn.

This one is going to be hard to pass up but I've got a ton of pictures of it and I'm almost positive it is only 2.5 years old. He's 4 on one side and 5 on the other.

These are the only 2 shooters I have seen on my cameras so far. The first one is 3.5 years old and the second one is 4.5+.

The crazy thing is that the 4.5+ buck would probably score less than the 2.5 year old buck in the post above with his left G2 broken down to a nub.
If I see either of those two during daylight hours in the next 2 months I'll be trying to make a connection.
