Soarkrebel, you really know how to bury the hatchet? Still hunting, ah I think I'll thin out some does and the boy will tag out...just kidding!!!!! Good luck to you and the boy.
I say how can any day hunting be bad? I tagged my buck, which was the last tag I had with still 3 week to go this year in the rifle season. I have been frustrated since this is the first in 4 years I never hunted at least 4 of the 5 week season for something...urg. I mean borderline clinically depressed here..oh well.
We had a good year, seeing lots, got 7 animals in 4 days with 5 hunters. 5 were nice mature bucks, including 2 PB's. We saw more bucks than does, which is a first.
My season as a whole was good, I shot a 300Lb with the bow in the spring...um rug for the cabin, we got 4 out of 6 bull moose with the bows in Sept...um moose meat, I tagged out my mulie doe, wt doe and wt buck....um sausage and jerky!!!! I trimmed the coyote population down by 25 animals with bow, ml or rifle in 3 months. Can't complain, except it is a long icefishing season till bear in the spring...booooooooo!
Feel better<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>!!!

Skunked agian. Went out sunday and saw nothing but hogs. I shot a doe in bow season, saw quit a bit of them during bow season but tend to save my buck tags for rifle. Rifle season is when I usually see the big-uns. This rifle season I have seen nothing but scrawny does or bambies little brother. The last 3 weeks I have seen nothing. I dont understand it. My land has no pressure on it. My brother and I hunt it and this year he hasnt even hunted it. Only one doe has been taken off of it. I think they will eventually arive. I have seen lots of scraps, rubs, and tracks, but very little droppings. I hope they are still moving at night and starting this week the rut should be getting hot around here. Maybe this weekend I can rattle a few up.
Im keeping my fingers crossed.

I believe luck has a big part in deer hunting. My brother and I just returned today from hunting in S.E. Arkansas where I tagged my fourth and final deer for the season. My brother hunted the same amount of time as I did but didn't make a kill. I just tell him I'm a better hunter than he is! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I've had a pretty good season up till now with 3 bucks and 1 doe but the last 2 weeks we aren't seeing any deer movement at all. I hunted allday friday, saturday, sunday, and a half day monday and saw one button buck the whole time. 4 others in camp and they didn't see anyting. They must have gone nocturnal here becasue I am still seeing fresh tracks everday. Oh well, I'll keep trying. That is half the fun anyway. A bad day in the woods is better than a good day at work!

that is why Im so upset. I have a little over 500 achrs. and will spend all day working every inch. Up until this year I could always stalk at least one a day. I guess a bad day of hunting is better than most days.
