Best way to get deer from field to truck
#22
I have somthing like Beenhunting talked about. It is heavy plastic that roles up. I just get the deer on it and strap it down PLEASE NOTE I also take my extra blaze orange vest and place over the antlers so some fool dont take a pot shot at me while I take my buck out, and just take my time geting where I need to go.
Take care.

After dragging out oh to many deer, I thank God im still alive. You have to be in good physical condition or you could DIE. Your heart goes from normal to eratic, possible causin a heart attack, if you have to do it do it go slow and then slower, If no hunting buddys around you have many options, go get help, bury the deer with your tag on it and put something in its throat or nose so you can ID it if stolen, I use an ATV, they can go anywhere, with a small saw. Think of you optins, God Bless

Helicopter.

Actually, I find it very convenient to tell the deer to walk to the car, and then I shoot it while he leans up against the tailgate so I can just shove him in.
Keep 'em all in the Bull.

New hunter asking a simple little question and mostly he gets smart a** replies. No wonder hunter numbers are declining. Come on guys. Some of you long time posters should just be ashamed of yourself. But the homor from Cyclone's reply was good.
Good advice for sure from Turkey Hunter.....use your harness (or any other available wide strap type of implement to distribute the weight on your shoulders/waist for the drag. AND GO LITTLE BY LITTLE, DON'T PUT YOURSELF IN CORANARY ARREST IN THE WOODS. ( Resque 51 is a lond ways off!)
By the way, as a new hunter it's almost an initiation to drag your harvest, isn't it?
I think BUCKINTHEWOODZ is right on track. But a simple plastic trash bag (even the heaviest) isn't gonna cut it, they snag and tear way too easily.
HERE'S THE LOWDOWN! Listen up all cause I don't like to repeat myself. LOL......................
Get yourself some UNDERGROUND PIPE JACKETING. It's not a bag it's a sleeve, open on both ends. They started using it about 5 years or so ago and it's used to line underground iron pipe before it's buried. It comes on rolls of hundreds of feet in various diameters from 6-inch to 36-inch +. This is some really THICK STUFF!
Catch some utility workers and get yourself some, 18-inch is great. ( You might have to trade them a case of beer, but you'll be thankful later!)
Cut it into 5 foot sections or so, roll em up tight and stash em out in your hunting grounds or just keep one in your daypack.
Once you've got 'em gutted, just slide 'em thru the sleeve and tie tightly around the neck. The plastic usually has so much static in it that the deer practically float above the ground effortlessly! Well, maybe my imagination is getting a little "carried" away (NO PUN INTENDED).
Anyway................THIS STUFF IS GREAT!
Now go bribe some utility workers!
Happy Holidays & Good Huntin' to all!
