which blades to use?
I have just recently shot two deer, one button buck and the other a doe. I was using 100 grain. 4 blade muzzys. and with both deer the arrow went all the way through. I have been curious about the magnus stingers I beleive and was wondering if they were better than muzzys or should I stick with muzzies?

Muzzy's are a good blade but have a small cutting diameter. For deer I prefer a good mechanical with at least a 1 1/2" cutting diameter.
I also have a theory that mechanicals give more of a punch because of the force needed to open up, while a fixed blades goes through like butter. But thats just a theory. I have comapred mech. to the muzzy and what I have found is the mech. leave more trauma to the internals, wouldnt reccomend them for hogs though.

bigcountry hit it right on the head (thunder)! "New", "new & improved", "better", "high-tech", blah, blah, blah.
Keep giving these people promising "bigger" & "better" things your money.
It's almost impossible to beat the proven thunderheads.

Ever heard of the Slick Trick. Made down in Arkansas, best flying broadhead I've ever shot and extremly solid. I used to shoot the rotating razorbacks, untill they redesigned them, not good. The Slick Trick's are the most durable I've ever shot also.

I've had good results from many fixed blades including Muzzy and TH's. However I use COC heads, for the past 5 years it has been Steelforce Premiums. Main reason my bow is more likely to be used for bear, elk and moose then deer (though they have done a bang up job ondeer as well). They have just flat out performed in all aspects.
I will not use a mechanical, as i don't consider them to be a great choice for the larger deer species.

Thats why Uncle Matt will be using old dug up stone arrowheads he found in his back yard this year.
