need help on softening up stock

geterdun - as longrifle said, recoil on the .22LR and even .22 magnum is virtually non-existent.
Let's say you go out to do some plinking with, oh ......... 2,000 rounds. Your thumb/fingers are going to be hurting way before your shoulder even thinks about being sore. Once you start re-roading those rotary mags you'll see what I want and why I'm giving you this recommendation.
Get a magazine loading tool. And the absolute best magazines are the factory Ruger 10-shot rotary mags.......hands down.

lol, thanks fellas for clearing that up, well im bout to replace that cheap ATI dragunov stock with the choate one, but my friend said that i will have an extremely fun time with my new 22, i hope so. thanks for clearing up that confusion for me guys,
