Hey at least your seeing deer. Some of us hunt public and would be thrilled to get one deer on public.

Rule #1, There is NO better sign than SEEING DEER during the hours and season when you are allowed to hunt them.

Every other suggestion is a waste of time until you are seeing deer.

Then start sorting out the rest of the available info.

The fastest way to start seeing deer is with a spot light.

rhino1, your comments are confusing. you say you're tired of seeing smaller bucks and does, but then next say you take a few small bucks every year. if you want to see bigger buck you're going to need to let those smaller ones walk, survive and grow for a couple of years. of course then at the end you say that you don't really shoot smaller bucks. anyway, point being that if you want bigger bucks...let the small ones walk on and grow up. especially if you're on private land and don't have to worry about a lot of pressure from other hunters.
good luck,
craig
