Here my Tip
Tip one:Hunt where the turkeys are. Alot of guys don't hunt where the turkeys are they just go in the woods/fields where they have seen turkeys before and start calling.
Tip two:Master a variety of calls. I hear guys say all I need is my box call or all I need is a slate. I use mouth calls more than anything but there are times a good glass or box calls will work its all depending on the situation and you should be prepared.
Tip Three: Have more than one group of turkeys located to hunt. Anything can happen have a plan b.
Tip Four:Bring food and Drink
Tip Five:Learn from your mistakes
Them are 5 good tips that I can think of quick now here is some rules that every hunter should follow in my opinion.
Rule1: have fun and enjoy the outdoors
Rule2: Take care of the outdoors don't leave trash around.
Rule3: Be safe
Rule4: Know your weapon. Gun or bow you should practice/pattern with it and know what it and you can do together.
Hope this helps good luck.
Almost forgot a big one Rule5 follow the law its good for everyone.

I agree with everything manwithaplan said. I would stress having a plan 'B' is very important, enough so that I would suggest multiple backup plans. We hunt public access land and I've spread out my options enough that I may hunt anywhere in a 15 square mile area over 3-4 days. Learning where the turkeys are during the few days you get to hunt is very important. Last week they may have been somewhere else, you need to find them the days you're there. Also, patience is important, but so is covering ground sometimes. Above all, be safe and have fun!

This may be a no brainer to the experiencd guy, but when you call be prepared to shoot. One day while out I was running and gunning. I stopped at one spot and called about 11 am. A few calls, listen, a few calls listen. All of a sudden here comes a long beard running right at me. There I stand with my gun on my shoulder and hands in my pockets. Frustraing timebut valuable lesson.
