I took a couple of friends from NY out last year and one of the guys shot a big buck with his black powder that scored around the 140 mark and the other took a 170 buck with his TC in 300 win mag. We have taken 7-8 bucks in or around this area that scored between 140 -170. They were taken on public ground on a DIY hunt. As with whitetail, the time to hunt is in the rut. I passed on 20 or so bucks before shooting this one the third day of the season.

Nice bucks, I've always wanted to take a trip out west and shoot a mule deer. Good to see that you take the time to clean up the deer to make some nice photo's.
