The town of Meeker is at the center of 4 areas.
NW-11
NE-211
SW-22
SE-23
I have hunted area 22 and 11 but haven' t hunted the others. I am from that area so I will help if I can. If you have any specific questions.
Don' t know of any free topo sites.

hey hoyt how long you hunted there? because theres this place that was supposedly private property and a freind of mine told me the other day that its public property! and he also says that it is common for people to do that, im so pissed cause i saw a nice bull and it was private " property" . NOT COOL

and check out the DOW' s new interactive maps they have NF , BLM and private boundries also FS roads etc... great new map system.
I' ve been wanting to research unit 22 myself for sometime, I know some fellows from out of stat that habe taken some real nice bulls from unit 22 on BLM where you can ride an ATV anywhere.

Yeah thanks wild really helps my hunt. Yeah i drove to Wyo once for a deer hunt and Stopped in Meeker Colorado for gas and i kid you not everyone had a nice bull i was like where did you guys hunt? They told me it was in some canyons and hills and went there the next year and shot a Cow but I must have seen like 100 Elk walking around chewin on grass it was amazing. I remember glassing them and they looked right at me. They knew something wasnt right and took off when they heard a gunshot. But again thanks for the topo

I' ll elaborate a bit on huntingthewild' s post: Contact the USFS/BLM in that area first. they have regional maps that very clearly designate lands by type. i.e Private, USFS, BLM, Wilderness under various jurisdictions and also by motorized access and road type. These maps also show seasonal motorized access. They however have no topographical or other terrain type illustration (slope, elevations, water, vegetation, etc) and are best used in conjunction with a good topo map of the same area. (This also often presents contradictions between the two map types and can give you questions to present the governing authority of certain lands, trails and roads)
