Sweet! What draw weight are you shooting? Enough for caribou next summer I hope.

Hmm....I'm thinking 60? Does that sound right? Enough to be tired after about a dozen arrows....and sore after another dozen!

CONGRATS ON THE NEW BOW JUNO GRL.....I DOUBT IT IS 60#. MY GUESS WOULD BE 40-50. I WOULD NOT IMAGINE " ONE STITCH " WOULD GET YOU ONE YOU COULD NOT HUNT WITH. KEEP SHOOTING AND GET READY FOR SPRING BEAR AND FALL CARIBOU.
I GOT SKUNKED IN ALBERTA....MY FAULT TEXAS HUNT FOR 3 DAYS MIDDLE OF THE MONTH AND HOPE TO GET AT LEAST A HALF DAY IN ALBERTA ON THE WAY HOME.

Things have slowed down to a crawl on here! On Vet's Day my partner and I are headed over to Sitka to gather up some venison. If we have any luck - I'll try to get some pics posted. The weather has cooled off and we are hoping for some tracking snow - the forecast is for rain. We shall see.

Haven't heard from SEAK, I think he is back in the Juneau area. I see his skiff has moved around on the trailer - maybe he has been doing some venison gathering of his own?

Nim - Brought a couple of fat forked horns back with us. They were barely beginning to rut - the weather has really been warm. They ought to be pretty tastey!

Have you had any opportunities to arrow any fish lately, or are all the waters frozen over now?

Nim - Yes, I saw ABM's Cow - he send a pic attached to an email. That's a BIG girl! The year we lived in Anchorage, we had one big-assed cow that size in our neighborhood over by Lake Hood- pretty spooky when you accidentally walked up close to her in the dark when out getting some exercise! ABM will have lots of good eating there.

Sorry to hear that things didn't turn out well for you on your trips since early Oct. Are you done hunting for the rest of the year, or do you have something else planned before New Years?

I'm beginning to to do my "turkey expedition" planning for this coming Spring. (Always scheming.) I know I'll spend some time trying to fill tags in Oregon, but I may also try either Washington or Idaho. Between non-resident licenses and turkey tags, it begins to add up in a hurry!

Nim - You ain't just a little anxious about the sheep draw are you? LOL

After this last little deer expedition, I know that sheep hunting is completely out of the question! I tweaked my back leaping from rock to rock crossing a high water creek - something I used to do without even thinking about it. (And I thought I was in decent shape - LOL!!)
