WELL SLEE AND I WENT TROMPING THROUGH THE SNOW WE SAW SOME GOOD SIZED SCRAPES AND RUBS AND A FEW SETS OF TRACKS BUT IF YOU WANT A TURKEY SAFEWAY WAS THE TICKET TODAY. WE HAD A GOOD TIME BUT NOT THE SMALLEST SIGN OF GOBBLERS. WE GOT SOME INFO FROM A LOCAL BUT DIDNT HAVE MUCH TIME TO FOLLOW UP ANY OF THEM, BUT WE ARE TURKEY HUNTERS AND WILL NEVER GIVE UP!!! SO WAYNE WERE ALL COMING TO YOUR PLACE TO GO HUNTING THIS YEAR JUST KIDDING WELL WASH WELCOME TO THE BOARD SEND ME A E-MAIL AND WELL GET TOGETHER SOME TIME. SAFE SCOUTING

Well, Gordo84 and I got a good workout climbing those snowy roads this morning. We didn't see hide nor hair, wait feathers, of a single turkey. I did realize just how out of shape I've gotten since bow season ended. Man it sure was great to get out there and look around though. Nothing like a walk in the snow in timber to soothe the soul. I sure would have liked to find birds though. As Gordo84 said, we did come away with some real good leads from a local sporting goods store owner who hunts turkeys in the area. He even drew the spots on a map, right after I bought it from him. I guess you gotta do what you gotta do.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

WELL TO TRY AND ANSWER ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS WASH NASCAR AND I BOTH WORK TOGHETHER ON BASE AND YES WE ARE MIL NOT CIV BUT NIETHER OF US LIVE THERE. TO EXPLAIN THE ADDRESSES WE ARE BOTH IN LITTLE OFFICES AND WE ARE SO OVERWHELMED WITH WORK THAT WE ARE ON THE NET ALL DAY EVERYDAY. Hey Wayne, if any of these spots turn out to hold birds, you are more than welcome to come with me. I hope to get out there maybe later this week or next. I've got 3 little ones, 5,3, and 1 1/2 years old, and they've been bugging me to take them out to look for turkeys. They went a few times riding around Ft. Lewis to look for deer, and are hooked. My 3yo has nearly worn out my elk bowhunting video. I guess I'll have hunting partners for a long time to come.<img src=icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle>

LOL nascar.... you haven't been turkey huntin' have you. :) Turkey hunting is the closest thing to archery hunting you can get with a shotgun. Most people once they hear that gobble are hooked for life. Not to mention gettin' a bird to spit-n-drum to impress either a decoy of yours, or just a cluck from your mouth. A W E S O M E

nothing but grouse on 'roids.
no i havent been. the 2 turkeys that i shot in my life, one was on a farm, ol guy put on a hunt for clients and everything was fair game, all eat'n that night. i was about 14.
the second was on the wing, didnt seem like much of a challange. i was about 17/18. woodcock and grouse were much more fun.

gordo84 ...yup...we do some hunting on my land....also other land on the same mountian.....plus other state and federal land both here in Steven's County, and Ferry County. Me and Wash have done lot's of locating and have found em in place's I never would have thought of by my self. I do take alot of other hunter's out....I ain't no paid guide or anything that resemble's one....lol. I just enjoy the Turkey season so much...it's hard to enjoy it by myself...hell...I ain't taken a bird myself in 3 year's. I did get out for myself once last season.....on the very last day of the season.....called in 3 tom's...they came in from behind me......then flew up and roosted in the tree I was sitting under....lol......my season was over......don't shoot em out of the roost.....Oh Well.....evey year's still a Great season cus I get to see lot's of folk's take their's while I'm with em..... Wayne p.s.........If ya don't stop here while your over here, I'd be disapointed..... :(

hey robb.......did your dust storm's cease..??....Had to go over for my weekly trip across Sherman Pass to day....headed to Republic....ran into a snow storm on my way.. :(....Some of the spot's I want to check out for some pre-season scouting....still has mound's of snow 5+ feet tall at the entrace.. :(.....sure hope we get some sort of a warm breeze here soon........
