I'D BE ASKING FOR IT, WE GET IT IF WE FLY THROUGH CERTAIN AIR SPACES, ONE PLACE IS PRETTY SCARY THERE ARE 2 SAM SITES ONE ON EITHER SIDE OF YOU AND WHEN YOU FLY THROUGH THEY TRACK YOU PRETTY SCAREY.

Rob, as for the Pheasant thing out here the state has a devoted a buget especially for raising and releasing birds state wide now. This season I saw and shot(at) more Pheasants than I ever have made a past effort at. NO dog til now, and I finally got my first ttwo jus this season over in the L.T Murray just wset of Wenas lake. I also got the dog into a few westside release birds just for more experience. These birds are now some of the best bred and released stock the state has ever worked with, and are a cross between "wild caught birds" and a notorious strain that's know for its running abilities and can mess up a pointing dog real qwik! I can't wait to see the numbers next year as these birds are very hardy and should survive the winter well in most Eastside wildlife areas and should help repopualte the wild stock. This program is bugeted for five years too!

Life is good once more.. :)....Took ther wife and Mom to breakfest this morning. All the turkey's I've been seeing have been down lower on the mountian.But........this morning coming home.....up higher on my place ...saw the first turkey's on my place....about 12 of em....all long beard's..... :))))))))))....!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess it's about time I showed my ugly mug on this thread. How ya'll doin? Wayne, how does the snow affect the birds? Gordo84 and I are going out Friday morning to look for some west side Easterns south of Olympia, and I've never had to scout birds in the snow. We don't get much in March in Mississippi, ya know.

I'm primed to come through your neck of the woods in May. I've got 2 guys from back home flying out to hunt with me. Pickin 'em up at Spokane Airport, and rolling into Kettle Falls with a vengance. One of the guys flew out and hunted with me over there last year. He skunked me. He got 2 birds to my 0. It was a wonderful trip though. I can't wait 'til May 9th. But April 15th comes first, so I've got to find some birds over here. I'm on a mission!

......I've found that the bird's seem to follow the snow line up.....last year while doing some locating...I did find some up in the snow. The flock's that we have up here on my place can't make their mind's up.....as soon as some of the snow disapear's they start to break up and head up high.....then we get more snow....so they re-flock and move down.....been doing that now for about a month....lol.....Wayne

Gordo84 and I are going to be just north of him in the Capitol Forest in the morning, provided we don't wind up in a ditch due to bad roads. I've got the newest West Side turkey map coming from the WDFW, and the DNR is sending me their regional map. If Capitol Forest doesn't pan out, we will just move a little farther south to scout. It will be nice to just get out and stomp around in the woods again. I'll get back to guys tomorrow. Morning is coming early for me.
