Leroy cr is acouple of miles past the Boulder cr state campground, and Doe mnt is the FS 100 road off the Chewuch river road. It's before you get to the FS Chewuch campground

Thought I would never be so happy to see rain but I am. The hot spell is over for now. It's been raining on and off since yesterday. Boy it was like someone turned on the switch last night, the deer were out everywhere. I saw over 80 bucks last night as I was driving around working. All sizes and shapes and also it looks like we have a good crop of fawns cause they were out with their moms in the fields. Hopefully this will slow down the fires in the area and let the guys and gals fighting them get a handle on them.looks like I wont have to go far to find a bear, my girls saw a nice big one just down the road from the house the other night. So I have a good idea as to where it will be. Might see if I can get my oldest daughter into place to have a chance at it.

I know that I have been surprized about how many nice legal bucks that I have seen in the vally this year, way more than I have seen in previous years. Looks like this season will be plentifull for all. What do you guys think about the 3pt restrictions? Seems like alot of nice deer out there.

I live on the wet side near Redmond, But my woman has some property near winthrop out by east Chewuch so I spend as much time over there as I can scouting and just chillin when I can get away from work. Looking to do some black bear hunting in september if work allows. and then I will be there for the whole modern season this year.

Trapper, I agree with you on the thee point state wide for deer and elk. Maby someone could explain why the east side Elk is spike only for the most part? The only complaint that I have heard about three point in the methow is that the spikes and small deer are breeding the does before the big bad migratory deer can arive from canada. The WDFW has that handled with the any deer deal for youth (even though the dads are shooting lots of the deer for the kids :< it still clears out lots of the spikes.)
