Amen, Wayne. I didn't see anything this weekend, but I was right where I wanted to be. It was great to get out and sweat a little chasin critters, sit around camp swapping stories, and breathing crisp mountain air. Unfortunately, the 2 bulls I heard this weekend weren't interested in any of the racket I was making. I'll go back after them Saturday for one last dance. You may not always bring home the kill, but you always bring home something. To me, that's what makes a hunt successful.

Am I the only lame brain that hunts modern firearm? I truely miss my bow hunting, and I think it really sucks that WA has the policy of pick your weapon and live with it. VA and MI I was spoiled and got to hunt with both. I'd go for the "trophy" with the bow, and meat with the modern. Oh how I miss that.

WAYNE1- - glad to hear you had a great time on your elk hunt ! It sounds like it was a blast ! - - I recently got back from a trip where I did a little trout fishing and crawling around looking for grouse. - - - No grouse in the game bag, but later did some dove hunting over in the Basin and had some success there. Delicious when chopped up and put in an omelet.
I'll be doing lots more grouse hunting through the end of the year and we're all getting ready to go after those big honkers when things freeze up north. - - How's Shooter coming along? Say Hi to Diane for me. Good Hunting!, - - Pointshoot
