Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

O.K. 10-4, Yea, when they seem to get excitted I will hear that, in fact on the bird I got this year I had the opportunity to watch and listen to him for 20 minutes in close before I shot, heard the " drumming" several times, I just never heard it called that, thanks for the reply

PPPHHHHT....vrooom! (soft sound--NOTHING like a grouse)
is the best I can do on the keyboard. I' ve tried making this sound when there were a couple of jakes around me (that I was gonna pass up anyway)--as an experiment. One of them gobbled at me and the other left in a hurry---so that' s a 50-50 split on THAT experiment! (so characteristic of turkey hunting--unpredictable).

Someday you have a gobbler in close and you will be able to witness this for yourself and you WILL see him kind of shudder or vibrate when he makes the " vroom" part of this call.

Also, if you hear this sound but you can' t see him yet...make sure you' re ready because is going to be VERY close...best of luck to you and get back to this board with your observations

In all my years of turkey huntin, I' ve never heard a tom drummin. I' ve heard the spit many times, but I guess my ears are just not good enough to hear the drummin.
