What do most of you guys consider the "Slam"

To me I consider it all 6...that's what's on my list of goals....though I plan to get the main 4 first...

Seems alot of guys only want the main 4 and call it a day?

Thanks for the info. We haven't really decided on where to go yet, or how far we want to go. We just started thinking about it and are getting some info for it. Doesn't necessarily have to be done in one year, but we thought it would be fun to try. Starting to save now though, because like you said it will be expensive! We were thinking about pulling his fifth wheel along to save on hotel costs. Camp on the state land and then hunt it.

Now that my slam is complete I would like to go and hunt the goulds turkey but I have absolutely no desire to go after that little peacock in South America.

They each have different names.. You want the world slam.

Grand slam is 4 birds - Rio Grande, Merriams, Eastern, Osceola
Royal slam is 5 birds - Rio Grande, Merriams, Eastern, Osceola, Goulds
World slam is 6 birds - Rio Grande, Merriams, Eastern, Osceola, Goulds, Ocellated

Grand Slam is what guys do and stay within the country, by far the most popular. Far fewer go international and try for one of the other two slams.

I've just got the Rio left and I'm done... Killed my Merriams last spring in SD... Dont have the time andcan not affored to do it all in one year...
