no you can keep it. what i usually do is take my jake out with 2 hens. this makes the jake look like he is moving in on someones territory.
the problem that may arise is that a younger tom may not come into a single jake deke.jakes are known to stay grouped together. and combined the will attack a subordinate tom. and 3 or 4 will whoop up on a single tom. if this has already happened then as soon as the tom sees a jake he will be hesitant to come in, afraid he is gonna get another butt whooping.
