This is pretty much a moot point in PA in the spring, can't hunt past noon. Do you feel its ok to find birds the night before, then setup under them so they drop in your lap?

In the fall, it ain't no difference between that and just waiting them out at any other destination location.

No guarantee they'll drop in your lap. f they spot you or hear you coming in they will fly far before landing. In IL it's illegal to shoot a turkey on the roost until 8am. I guess the early risers have it made!

i love wild turkey, but i would try to first hunt him during the morning or afternoon and use my skills to call him in...as the season goes and if i have had no success then i would consider hunting at his roosting area and seeing if i could get him in close enough, but i would use a bow and not a shotgun...JMO...

also in CA no hunting past 4pm...so you couldn't do it anyways

Well in Indiana you can hunt until sunset. Sure I would hunt a roost area in the evening. But as for shooting one while hes in a tree roosted. No way. Theres a difference shooting one when hes on the ground or that you have patterned or called in. Thats working the bird. Im against shooting one out of a tree. Thats my honest opinion, but different strokes for different folks...
