This is in regards to the whole benelli guns...I found this thread at the NWTF website and thought it may help turkeygirl2. If it doesn't help you any, then disregard.

Here's the link: http://www.nwtf.org/message_board/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=shotguns&Number=39 0889&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o= 0&fpart=

I'm a lefty and I love my Browning BPS. I haven't shot my 870 since I got it. It has abetter fit and finish than the 870. It seems to fit me better. You can't beat it for a lefty shotgun. It is harder to find aftermarket stuff for it. Special order usually.

I'm a lefty also, own 2 870's, no problem with them at all. You have some great choices and input, good luck and good hunting.

most any 12 ga. pump with aturkey load is going to kick like amule just as bad as shooting slugs some worse. once you get your gun patterned to the right shell & choke the pain will be overmost people don't even feel the kick when hunting with all the excitement I suggest go to a couple of gun shops andlook atseveral guns &see what gun feels the best when you handle them and then decide what you want in your price range

i love my 870. my father had an 835 and that sucker kicked something fierce. $350-360 for the 870 in camo. the thumbhole stock isn't really needed. it just adds to the cost. i never shot a 20 ga. for turkey so i can't help there. federal 3", #5 shot, super full rem choke. that combo really puts 'em down. the 870 i hunt with now is only 3 yrs old. but i have one thats 20 yrs old. they are very solid guns. as farleftys go ithica was making a turkey for a while don't know much about them. they make good slug guns and they eject out the bottom. i also heard that the ithica turkey guns shot slugs real nice with a rifled choke.

If money is a big deal You can get a NEF. I purchesed a black Pardner Pump for only 200 dollars and I works just fine from anything from turkey to rabbbits and squirls. just by a choke tube and a sight and you got a pretty good turkey gun for less then 250 dollars.

I have 2- 870 pump's. One in 12ga and one in 20ga. I use the 12 and my daughter uses the 20. I just added a Sims recoil pad and fiber optic site and sling to heres and she loves it. She is 15 and maybe 115 lbs. I got it at walmart a couple years ago and had it fully set up for around $250. I have used it and would hunt with it any time. I just like my 12, but the 20 works just as well and actually has less kick. Both shoot 2.75 or 3" shells and have an extra full choke on a 20" barrel. I also like that they are both short barreled, which makes it easy to run-n-gun with them if the need arises.

The mossberg 835 has theability to tune very quickly, and is not as picky as some other 3 1/2's due to the overbored .777 bore and the longer forcing cone. Try the primos jellyhead its a cheap but very efective tube in most guns, whatever brand of gun you choose, and the 2.25 ounce hevi13 load, you can get the hevi13 at midsouth shooters supply,or the winchester exstended elite in #6 these two loads if you can tune it, will slam gobblers , you should be able to get 160-180 hits in a ten inch circle at 40 yards if your lucky, people run those loads thru guns and they ROCK! dont worry about recoil, get a limbsaver and you'll be fine... i hope this will help you Almost any 12 gauge shotgun with screw in choke can be made into aleathal turkey killer if you have pateince, check out oldgobbler.com its loaded with good info-johny
