RE: Input on a new turkey gun
i love my 870. my father had an 835 and that sucker kicked something fierce. $350-360 for the 870 in camo. the thumbhole stock isn't really needed. it just adds to the cost. i never shot a 20 ga. for turkey so i can't help there. federal 3", #5 shot, super full rem choke. that combo really puts 'em down. the 870 i hunt with now is only 3 yrs old. but i have one thats 20 yrs old. they are very solid guns. as farleftys go ithica was making a turkey for a while don't know much about them. they make good slug guns and they eject out the bottom. i also heard that the ithica turkey guns shot slugs real nice with a rifled choke.
