patterning
im going to be patterning my shotgun for turks. all i have for a choke is the full the gun came with. i got some #5 #4 3.5" this is the first time shooting w this gun for turks i use it mostly for ducks. i dont plan on buing another choke, but that may change. ive read where alot of hunters will use a full vs anything tighter so id like to try that first. im not to experianced in patterning and would like to consider all the variables. all the tecno info gets a little confusing, ive read some of the posts on this but it sounds like im going to spend alot to find out my optimum range/pattern.

RE: patterning
Cpac, I've patterned my full choked Auto 5 and got a dozen or more vital hits at 35 yards. The extra full and super full chokes do provide a better pattern in my opinion and are worth the investment. Try different brands of shells also to see what shot size works best out of your barrel. A 3" shell is more than enough power to drop a bird and cheaper when it comes to patterning and less wallup on your shoulder. Visit http://www.fullstrut.com/ and click on the "FREE" printable patterning target. Print a multitude of them and count the vital hits which is the brain and spinal stem when patterning. BTW, I love the audio clip when this page loads up.

RE: patterning
cpac Turkeyrambler pretty much nailed it what I do is shoot different shot and length shells and count all the shot in the neck/head I have had the best luck with 3 1/2" #4 lead but all guns pattern a little different mine is a pump benelli I won at a NWTF function.
