I use Feather Flex brand decoys.
As far as set up, I usually set them out around 15 to 20 paces.
One thing I like to do is never set them directly
in front of me.
If you picture a set up like a clock and you're pointing
at 12 o'clock I set the fakes at either 2 or 10 o'clock.
That way if a bird comes in directly in front of you, the decoys
and you are'nt in his same line of sight.
I read it in a article somewhere. Not sure if it's earth shattering
news about decoy placement but it seems to work for me.
Good luck.

I really like the realistic look of the Buckwing decoys. I use a trio of two hens and a jake. I bowhunt from a blind so I like the decoys close. No more than 10 yards with the jake facing me and the hens facing away or to the side. When a toms comes in he'll usually aproach the jake first and go for eye contact so he be well within bow range. for gun hunting I'd move the distance out to around 20 yards with the same formation.
Good Hunting!

feather flex for me. they are real light, and fold up flat.
although i think the carry lite, are colored better.
I usually set mine out about 25yds for gun huntin, and around 15 to 20 for bowhuntin.

I use the collapsable foam type hens. I believe
they are the feather flex. And a small
jake decoy. I purchased a larger jake decoy
last year but it seemed to lock up the birds
just out of range. Ive had gobblers run in
an beat the crap out of my small jake.
My newer decoys are more realistic looking but
the finish is shinier and I think that was causing
me problems last year. I had good luck with them in
the woods but not in the open sunny field.
My advice, 2 hens and 1 jake, place 15 to 20 yards from
your position. Make sure they arnt too shiny and place
the hens low to the ground and the jake higher. Make sure the decoys arnt facing you. Good luck

I have feather flex and Delta decoys and like both. We seem to agree that it is best to have two hens and a jake and everybody's distance away is about the same as mine, 10 yards for bow, 20 yards for shotgun. Shooting left handed I always have my decoys to my right at about 2 O'clock. I too have had some jakes shy away from my jake decoy which was fine with me. All the toms have come in without hesitation.

I AGREE TOTALLY WITH HUNTING BLIND,I USE THE JAKE AND THE HEN FROM BUCK WING AND I WOULD NOT BE IN THE WOODS WITHOUT ONE.TWICE LAST YEAR I HAD A GOOBLER SPUR MY JAKE DECOY, AND I GUESS YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED NEXT.MY HUNTING BUDDYS HAVE HAD GREAT SUCCESS WITH THIS PRODUCT.I KEEP THE EXPANDERS IN THE DECOY, AND USE MY DUCK DECOY BAG FOR TRANSPORTING THEM.THIS PAST DEER SEASON I BOUGHT A DOUBLE BULL BLIND [ T5 PRO STAFF] CANNOT WAIT FOR TURKEY SEASON.THE BLIND HAS THE PREADATOR CAMO, I HOPE THIS WILL WORK WHEN THE LEAVES ARE ON THE TREES.THE GOBBLERS JUST CAN'T HELP THEMSELVES WHEN THEY SEE THAT JAKE DECOY. GOOD HUNTING!!!!
