Default RE: decoys

I use the collapsable foam type hens. I believe
they are the feather flex. And a small
jake decoy. I purchased a larger jake decoy
last year but it seemed to lock up the birds
just out of range. Ive had gobblers run in
an beat the crap out of my small jake.
My newer decoys are more realistic looking but
the finish is shinier and I think that was causing
me problems last year. I had good luck with them in
the woods but not in the open sunny field.
My advice, 2 hens and 1 jake, place 15 to 20 yards from
your position. Make sure they arnt too shiny and place
the hens low to the ground and the jake higher. Make sure the decoys arnt facing you. Good luck
