Mossberg 835 choke tube question???
I have a few questions about my new purchase.
I have bought a lot of new hunting gear this year and I don’t know if I can squeeze another $50 from my wife for a new choke tube so I want to be sure I need one before I ask..hehe!
Does anyone use the Mossberge choke tube, if so what ammo do you use (my choke is marked lead shot only)?
If you do use a after market choke, what brand is it and what ammo do you use with it?
What is the availability of lead shot? If I use HV will it damage the choke tube?
Thanks

I have an 835 and use the factory X-full that came with it. I shoot Federal 3 1/2" turkey loads in 5 shot. I have patterned it at 20, 30 and 40 yards and the patterns are devastating. Dense patterns with many pellets in the head and neck.

Go with the hastings choke tube. That's what I use in my Moss 835 and it's real nice. It recommends shooting copper-plated shot through it which I do, but I've shot regular lead shot through it also, and it hasn't damaged it. Plus a lot of the turkey loads these days are copper-plated.
