This year has been the best year to work birds , that I have seen for years. The thing that I seen was that if it was not for the private land presure there would be a heck of a lot more turkeys taken.
As you said it is nice to see a Gobbling Strutting Tom come in , but I don't see it often either. Most kills are walking, stop look around , walk and stop to the gun. A turkey hunter has to take what he gets if he wants to be successfull.
I have heard hunters here talk about the season being hard , but I don't see it in that way this year.
Talk about hunting presure , I had some action with a hunter yesterday that wanted to setup his decoy 10 feet from mine. When I asked him if he would give me room, he told me to move mine. So I said I would do it for him if he don't ,,he picked up and move a whole 40 yards away. Well for a change I gave back what I put up with and waited for good light as the turkeys started gobbling 50 yards away and I got up and walked right across the midle of a plowed field in front of the roost and setup on a ridge away from them 3 guys that crowded me and I got into other birds.
Needless to say when I returned to ask how the fellows made out and if they had any Luck (after hearing the gobbler heading the other way) these guys were gone [:@] I like to see everyone have a good chance at a Gobbler , just like I get

I agree BT, awesome year here in Ontario.
I really went full force this year hunting as many days as I could. Really have been trying to take my understanding of the birds to the next loevel rather than just "hunting". Tagged out and when I didn't have anyone to hunt with I was out scouting or roosting gobblers. Had a double on one of my kills with another guy and called in or helped out on 4 more. 2 missesby other hunters but bothended up baggin one eventually. 7 kills for the season. Out of about 20 days of hunting that's DEFINITLEY my best year for sure! Some were silent and others were the full meal deal. Action almost every day!
Ended with a guy who has never shot a turkey before baggin his first bird. That hunt might have been the sweetest. I worked a double for him and another friend and I think I was the most excited when it all went down.
Holy crap. Too long to wait until next season. Oepning in Ohio and then back home to Ontario for our season. Hmmmmm. If i go see Adrian in Florida I only have about 9 1/2 months to wait..........

I should have to amend my post to 8 kills I have enjoyed watching this season. Stopped by Boss Tom's place and Adrian said it's too bad I didn't have any camo or I could join them on the afternoon hunt. I informed him the hunting gear is in the trunk until June 1st and so off I went with he and his client
Unfortuneatly the year of the miss for his clients continued. I'm sure he will share the frustartion [&:]butit was an exclamation mark on the year for me!

One of the best seasons in Pa. in quite a while.
Had more birds respond after they hit the ground than ever. At least for me and my hunting partners. I hope it happens again next year....
Oh yea we killed some nice ones too.
