man watch the door frame when heading to bed , I would hate to see ya hit your side of your head

Ken maybe you should tell everyone what these presured gobblers are like in these public lands. I seen a good one today myself,,
A place that is private that I hunt has birds but when you call they will not work to anything and just plain shut right up. I tried a popup blind and they just walk way out around it and carry on. So I decied to leave it in the woods at the edge of a place I watched this silent Tom traveling for 4 days. I returned this morning and got into it with another hunter and sat and waited out the flydown. I heard nothing and after light was well on the way I look out the back window to see a Longbeard standing no more then 20 yards. No Gobbling , No fanning, just walking slow.
I lowered the window a little to allow the hunter to get the gun barrel out and when they did they could not find the tom in the scope on the gun. The bird started to turn as to leave the same way it came and I softly made 3 yelps and the Tom bolted and ran over a small rise it came in on , with out any shots fired from the hunter. never heard or seen him again.
Would that be close to what your finding in the Public land your hunting ? ...BT

I think once you've been busted a turkey is going to get out of dodge no matter what call you give him
As far as the turkeys not coming to the calls... I really think that when your turkey hunting there are a lot of turkeys out there that have there minds made up and are going were they want to go no matter how great of a caller you are and I believe you have to find the right turkey that wants to die
As far as the ones that want to die... I think you found them all already
