I could care less if you kill all your birds off privatefarms[:-]
All I'm saying is pressured public land WILD GOBBLERS are harder to hunt than your unpressured farm birds!!!! THAT IS A PROVEN FACT
If the truth hurts dude I'm sorry.
I'm not saying that I wouldn't mind getting some of that private property action once in awhile just to get my turkey under my belt and knock the edge off. But when it comes down to it I wouldn't be happy until I get my public land gobbler just to let myself know I still got what it takes to fool a weiry pressured WILD GOBBLER

Mr. Longbeard,Correct me if I'm wrong. What I gather from your post's is,Anyone who has killed more turkey than you must hunt TAME birds. So in your opinion that means they are not as good of a hunter asyou.I guess anyone who has killed less turkey than you your opinion is,They are not as good of a hunter as you.Now here is where I want you to correct me if I'm wrong.Your opinion is that,NOBODY is as good of a turkey hunter as you.If turkey huntin made me as upset as it seems to make you,I would quit.Personally,I like it when a bird with a brain the size of a pea outwits me.That's what makes it huntin.

MLB,
I don't think there's such a thing as an easy bird to kill. I hunt the same public land in MD that you do, and yes, it does get alot of pressure and yes the birds do wise up quickly, but there still are birds in there that will come in to a set quickly early in the season. I've found that patterning other hunters is as vital as patterning the birds in there and laying down some boot leather will definately help. You kill consistantly in there, and that definately speaks volumes for your abilities. But at the same time, I can't ever remember killing a bird and thinking "Man, that was easy." That includes private land birds. One thing we should all keep in mind is that the only person who should judge how good a hunter a certain person is, is that person. If someone can walk out of the turkey woods with or without a turkey, and have a story to tell and a smile on their face, then they've just won at the game and no one should judge them regardless of what they did or did not kill, where they hunted or how they hunted. If a person legally and ethically hunts and enjoys themselves, then they are ok in my book.

I want you guys to notice how Mr. Longbeard capitalizes WILD GOBBLER when referring to the turkeys he kills on public land. Obviously he is emphasizing the fact that only public land turkeys are WILD. We guys who hunt private ground aren't even chasing WILD birds I guess. Our turkeys are tame and when we let out the first yelp the longbeards come running. Mr. Longbeard you seem like the really annoying guy we all meet in Walmart at the hunting section, when we are looking at stuff to buy. We pick up a scent/or callthat he doesn't use and he notices and comes over to tell us what has worked for him to kill 10 racked bucks in one season or the secret mouth call that magically called him up 7 longbeards on opening day 2 years ago. Honestly Mr. Longbeard, you probably hunt public ground because you haven't the personality to ask someone permission to hunt on their land. Your obviously egotistical and arrogant and you make thatclear every post you make...I almost look forward to your posts on here becauseyour ridiculous almost to the point of being funny. It would be nice however if you would decide one day that you enjoy the company and discussion of other hunters on here, rather than using this forum as a place to promote yourself and your hunting abilities and accomplishments. I am done responding to you because your not worth my time or anyone elses. To everyone else, good luck hunting the "almost impossible to kill" WILD TURKEYS on public ground or the " dumb, tame, people friendly"turkeys on private land.

How in the world could anybody think that 45 bowhunters killing 60 gobblers is really any kind of real turkey hunting
. That is not turkey hunting. SORRY!!!!!! It's more like shooting ducks in a pond...If you got it like that then you aren't a turkey hunter in my book. I may have been a little hasty when I made the remark about guys that have 60 sets of spurs laying around... I'm sure there are plenty of old timers that have killed that many gobblers... But as far as I'm concerened if you are in your 40's and don't hunt for a livingand have killed more than say 20 or 30 Gobblers you are hunting easy unpressured gobblers!!!!Or you have way to much time on your hands

Mr L. I'm in my 40's and have alot more than 20 or 30 birds under my belt.I've been chasin turkey over 30 yrs.I take 1 week vacation in the Spring to hunt turkey. The turkey here in Pa. are under as much pressure as any birds in the country.I've never been on a guided hunt and have NEVER hunted a game preserve.I'll agree there are alot of huntin shows that are staged.(That's why I don't watch em)There are many other members on this board with as much or more experience than me.To classify us as NON HUNTERS is an insult. This may shock you but maybe, just maybe some of us actually have some skill.

Dude I'm sure your a good turkey hunter... Hell I would be a great hunter if I could hunt some prime private land too!!!
I know Pa gobblers get hammered on public land. But you can fit my state in yours 5 times. You have a lot more places to chase birds than I do. Plus I'm sure you have plenty of invites to hunt some prime private land also
It's nice when you strike out on public and the next day your on some 500 acre farm sittin on the edge of a green field ain't it???
