In my first post I said that if45 BOW hunters can kill 60 gobblers then those guys are not hunting WILD TURKEYS.....

It just amazes me that Know one on hear can agree with that!!!

I would be willing to bet my life, that the nuckle head from bowhunter magazine could not kill a WILD turkey in one week on the public land that I hunt

WLOG I can tell all ready that you are one of those guys that wouldn't have the first Idea of were to look for a turkey if you didn't have a 100 acre green field to scout from in the front seat of your truck...

Dude I'm sure your a good turkey hunter... Hell I would be a great hunter if I could hunt some prime private land too!!!

I know Pa gobblers get hammered on public land. But you can fit my state in yours 5 times. You have a lot more places to chase birds than I do. Plus I'm sure you have plenty of invites to hunt some prime private land also

It's nice when you strike out on public and the next day your on some 500 acre farm sittin on the edge of a green field ain't it???

We might have 5 times the area but we also have 10 times the 3 of hunters. Concider this an invite for next Spring.I'll put you on PRIVATE land next to a green field and you can show us just how easy it is.

Ok-ok-ok!!I threw almost all my spurs in the garbage does that mean I'm a turkey hunter now!!Ken your exactly right pressured birds dont come easy at all,but take it from someone who has hunted in alot of areas besides my home state, pressured birds are everywhere where they get hunted! Each year the woods fill up more and more with turkey hunters!Yes the newbies can make it extremely difficult and frustrating along with a # of other factors too!Small overcrowded areas with few birds, private property with folks feeding them and even city limit boundries are problems that I'm facing daily now in the turkey woods!Just gotta keep at it and look for opportunites!I may be one of those fellas that you say has to much free time on my hands but I do put mybirds down every season too,its all fun to me!!!!!!

I know there are plenty of private propertys that have pressured turkeys and I know they can be as hard to hunt as public land turkeys... I also know there are plenty of private propertys that don't get hammered and the turkeys see very little hunting pressure... These are the turkeys I'm talking about

I've hunted pressured Gobblers!!!!! And I know that I can go from my heavily pressured hunting ground and hunt on those prime private propertys and kill Gobblers with no prob. But can the guys who just hunt prime unpressured birds say the same??? I say no!!!

I can't believe I am responding but Mr. Longbeard just really chaps my a$$ everytime I see his post. My scouting consists of spending every morning in the woods before season listening. I live in the mountains where there are no 100 acre green fields and where all a turkey has to do is pitch off the roost onto the next ridge or across a road and hes on another piece of property. I didnt realize I was giving away my tactics in my posts. Its pretty sad MLB that a 10 year old could get on here and post his first bird he ever took calling for himself and you'd be the first one too say..."Great job...now kill on on public ground and you'll really be a turkey hunter!" I am a fulltime student in college. I schedule my classes around turkey season. No morning classes. I am majoring in adveritisng in hopes of getting a job in the outdoor industry. I do competiton calling all over the state and in some other states. We have a week long season in January thats either sex. I haven't been in he 3 years its been open because they dont't gobble and strut then. I live to turkey hunt in the spring. I have never huntedon public ground before and therefore I am not a real turkey hunter?? Your opinion is meaningless to me as well as everyone else around here now. Your crediblity is shot on this board and I would love to see you never come back...Every post you make is drawing a linein the sand for your fellow hunters. Your beards are longer, and spurs sharper than all of ours. We admit you'resuperior to all of us in the turkey woods, public or private...now go away.

Mr.L,If that were all you said,I think everybody here would agree with you. However,Go back and read your own posts.Anyone who has taken more than 50 birds is not a hunter,Anyone who has taken more than 30 birds has too much time on their hands etc. etc. Those kinda comments are an insult to some very dedicated hunters. I along with some others on here should have a high # of kills only because we've been at it for alot of years. That doesn't make us any better than someone with 20 or less kills. The point I've been tryin to get across to you is,YES public land gobblers are harder to kill but not imposable(sp) to kill.NO, You can't hunt pressured birds with the same tactics as un pressured birds BUTWith a little experience you learn to adapt to the pressured birds and can still fill your tags each year.As for my offer,I'll put you in the same place I'd put Adrian. In an area you'll hear 10+ birds gobble from the roost. You pick any one of them to go after.I'll sit back and watch.Maybe I'll learn something.

You said you only take 1 weeks vacation each spring. So I'm assuming your hunting every week end also. Now your in your fourtys so lets say 43... You said you have killed way over 40 turkeys. So i'll just guess and say 55... Now I'm just guessing hear but lets say you started turkey hunting when you were 12... Now I'm sure it's safe to say you weren't seriously hunting until you were say in your teens say 18-20.... Now just a rough estimate but thats like 3 gobblers a year avereage.... Now with just 1 week and a couple of week ends there is no way you could tag that many wiery wild turkeys!!! Unless say 50% of those turkeys were some of those unpressured gobblers that I am famous for talking about....

Hows my math????
