Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

"The first gobble you hear will make a turkey hunter out of ya no matter where its at."

So true...so true.

I'm in California and it took me 2 1/2 seasons OF HARD HUNTING to score my first Tom. I FINALLY scored on PRIVATE land after many close encounters on Public property.

I personally know of two parcels of public land that every time I've hunt them it's almost like it's Private. That's because most people don't do their homework, scout or locate these "Gems".

I hunt both, each when I can.

Bill

I absolutely love turkey hunting and from the hunting I have done all turkeys are cunning and very sharp. But these turkeys they take on tv are pretty much raised on these farm lands and are harvested to benefit the education of new turkey hunters coming up. so my hat is off to them all if they kill 1 or 100 they have my attention every gobble of the way!

PS. I killed my first tom this year. 18 pounds 9 1/2 inch beard and 1 inch spurs and proud of him!

Well in 7 years of turkey hunting last year is the first that I have ever filled both my tags. That doesn't make any difference though as all that I am asking is to stop drawing a line in the sand for your hunters by telling who is and who isn't a hunter. And whos birds are hard to hunt and whos aren't. I wish you and everybody else the best of luck always in the woods. Take a first-timer and get them a bird. Turkey hunting is the best and we hunters need to encourage eachother and stick together...not divide.

WOW! I spent a week in front of one of these Cameras this passed spring. I have always counted myself a fair turkey hunter , but I guess I have gave myself way too much credit here.

I'll answer your Question Longbeard ! Yes at most times I Kill on Public land, I only wish the hell we had as much as you boys in the US , because ours is only 100 acre parcels and we have so much presure because of the amount of hunters and lack of land, but it sure is nice to Slam a gobbler on private , I don't need an afternnon nap on them days ...BT

With all the privately leased property and huntin clubs taking up the majority of the land around these parts, hunting private ground is getting to be more like hunting public ground with each passing year!!I dont have a problem with it though, quiet woodwise gobblers send the less persistent on there way and keep the weak of heart right where they need to be "AT HOME"!!!!!
