I' m thinking about going back to my NAP QT1000 Pro. I ditched it a few years back when I got caught up in the drop away craze in favor of the savage derringer dropaway. Don' t know why really, I never seemed to have any tuning problems with it. Only thing I didn' t like was prong wear with GT5500s, but I now shoot ACCs with a much much smoother finish. I suspect prong wear with ACCs would be minimal, can anyone tell me for sure?
Are there any add on prongs that promote arrow holding ability better than the stock NAP prongs?
Any other thoughts?

Rangeball,
I have used ACC' s for the last 4 years and in my experience they will wear your launcher arms just as bad.
They don' t seem to wear the spring launchers on my Bodoodle Pro-500 at all.
I believe, this is because of the shape and slickness of the launchers plus the fact that they drop down a bit when the arrow is released.
I like to use GKF rests and use their thick black synthetic launchers for hunting.
They wear also but it takes several thousand shots.
Plus, you can move the launchers inward when they have excessive wear.
The GKF synthetic launchers are great for hunting with ACC' s, imo.
They cradle and hold the arrow much better than the metal launchers.
Sag.

Sorry but ACC' s will still wear your rest.
I would check into various other launchers made by several rest companies. I was a slow convert to the fallaway rest but I honestly have shot several models I really like. 2 rests I have been very impressed with as of late are the Trophy Ridge Dropzone and the Trophy Taker Shakey Hunter. Both are high quality and work great. I have been testing the Trophy Taker this week and really like it. The Dropzone is built very well and also does a great job I have one to setup on one of my hunting bows as well! Like anything else in this world you have the find the combo that works great for you & only you! I know a guy who still uses a Flipper II by NAP & it is " The Rest" for him. No other will do!
The NAP rest you mentioned is great, if anything you could add a touch of fleece to the launchers & that will help you out a lot. Bass Pro & Cabelas both sell fleece covers for prong rests.

Thanks guys...
Sag, are you referring to the GKF bent prongs like they use on their new power drop? They look like they would do a good job cradling the arrow while still allowing fletching clearance.
Do you know if they will fit my NAP? I assume they are 1/8" posts, right?
I could live with wear after a ton of shots. They stock NAP black prongs wore to metal after only about 250 shots or so...

Sag, I love my Bodoodle Pro500 and Pro Lite as well with ACC' s...I' ve never gotten into the drop away craze either...I' ve never had tuning problems with the Bodoodle as well as I' ve never had flaws with the rest itself....

Rob,
The Pro-500 is one of the greatest rests of all time ,imo.
Built like a tank and lasts forever.
It, the Pro Tuner, and GKF Infiniti are my 3 favorite rests.

RB,
The Acc' s will wear your shrink tube or whatever...so I don' t use it...As I said in the other thread (bodoodle is noisy) I use " hard as nails" nail polish coating...It' c cheap, easy to reapply (every few days for me during hunting season), doesn' t affect tune and works pretty well. Just brush it on let dry, brush some more on, let dry, etc.
As far as your rest goes..I have been shooting the 1000 & 3000 for quite some time. Solid rests for the $. I did the drop-away thing for over a year, and came to the conclusion that (especially with a single that has some nock travel), conventional' s are superior for consistency/accuracy because they offer more guidance/cushion for the arrow
IMO/IME anyways....

I agree with JeffB, Sag, and others above. I also find the Bodoodle to be a fine hunting rest, I use the 500 and Pro-lite myself, with the fingernail poilsh trick. The fins on them are quite thick, and seem much more durable than other prong rests. I' ve had no trouble with them in any weather, they always come through for me.
Dropaways are fine for some people, I' m just not one of them.
