Gregg...Yeah!! Very interesting.....Your "cross" description is about right on!!!!!!!
Bowfanatic,
I guess my problem is since the AMO is that some companies (not just GKF) seem to be saying that another company thinks their product is wonderful. Less than 1% of the archery population attended the ATA so what we hear is all we can go on. I find it hard to believe a competeing company would support another's product. Essentially by "saying" it on here that is what they are infering.

Thanks, guys, for your input. I was confident that there weren't as many sheeple on this forum as there seems to be on others.
As you will notice, the only remarks I've made about the GKF PD rest is that it does not have any arrow captivation. I reserve my comments until I have some facts and that won't come until after I've bought one and put it through some tests. The GKF 'Brotherhood', as those who are members dubed it, tried to blast me when I found major faults with their Mirage rest. GFK later fixed some of the problems but certainly not all of them. I hope the PD holds up better than the Mirage. It would be horrific to have one of the major rest manufacturers fail twice in a row; and especially after pushing the Mirage so hard last year and then this infomercial performance.
I guess most of you have noticed that they seem to have stopped touting the Mirage in favor of the Power Drop?

I've heard the same touting from the MZE brotherhood! In fact , most of the time the MZE brotherhood show up during a GKF thread<img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>
Dont mean to stir up crap here , but the MZE "brotherhood" is just as guilty as the GKF "brotherhood"!

Bowfanatic-
But the overt pushing of this rest and the hype has been long before this rest even came on the market, and before some even had it in their hands to evaluate.

Overhyping of any product will lead to a bad impression in people's minds of the product regardless of whether they have seen it or not. It's called "oversaturation" in advertising theory. Most companies shoot for good saturation of the target market with their advertising campaign to built anticipation for the product, and have that saturation peak just as the product is being released. If the target market gets oversaturated, people start getting tired of hearing about the product and interest in it nosedives. That's pretty much what has happened with the Power Drop on here right now. I'm not aware of that happening with the MZE, but I'm not sure if it's because most of the MZE reviews were after release and based on real experience or that they were simply spread out over a longer period of time.

BOWFANATIC flip the launchers upside down & you get more arrow holding power. Same concept that the NAP rests use.
CG - you asked if anyone saw anything they liked so I answered.
Len in Maryland - do what I told Bowfanatic, it will solve your problem with the rest.

OB: What you suggest will certainly help to keep the arrow on the rest. But, since the manufacturer didn't design it that way, I would have to check for total fletching clearance using this method. It may well be there, but I'd have to check it for my own satisfaction.
Arrow captivation, as I like to see it, is when you can lay the bow on your lap and then pick it up and shoot without touching the arrow. I like it to also keep the arrow from being yanked off the rest when stalking through brush and woods.
I lost a nice 5X5 elk a few years ago because the arrow was pulled off the prongs, even when using an arrow hold down device, when pivoting to get the shot.

BOWFANATIC - I'm sorry I posted something that won't work. I just tested the launchers in the position I told you would work but it won't with carbons. a 2512 would work but nothing any smaller, sorry I posted before I tested.
If you do use the launchers that you see in the picture you can open them up a good amount and it will hold a arrow nice & solid. You really shouldn't have any problems but you can try them on any style TM rest made by GKF to see if they hold with in your requirements.
once again sorry about that, I don't like psoting false info.
