OB: What you suggest will certainly help to keep the arrow on the rest. But, since the manufacturer didn't design it that way, I would have to check for total fletching clearance using this method. It may well be there, but I'd have to check it for my own satisfaction.
Arrow captivation, as I like to see it, is when you can lay the bow on your lap and then pick it up and shoot without touching the arrow. I like it to also keep the arrow from being yanked off the rest when stalking through brush and woods.
I lost a nice 5X5 elk a few years ago because the arrow was pulled off the prongs, even when using an arrow hold down device, when pivoting to get the shot.
