Default HOT, GKF 2003 line-up!!!!

I spoke to my dealer today and he was just buzzin' with the word of all the GKF goodies comming out in 2003!!! The new POWER DROP sounds like THE hot ticket!!! This rest is "a new patented technolgy in fallaways." The rest is said to require NO strings, cables, attachments or resetting??? All metal machined quality. This thing sounds extremely interesting!!!

Another fallaway he spoke of is called the HUNTER ELITE and is built on a Platnium body. The rest is said to feature a cable slide attachment and "built in Simms technology".???

He also spoke of another cool containment system. I believe this one is called the ARROW TRAP, but all I know at this point is that the rest is said to provide accurate, quiet flight WITHOUT the loss of speed, damaged fletching, or the adverse effects of weather!!! This one promises to be one heck of a bowhunter rest I'm sure. Of course, as popular as some other containment rests seem to be, it's going to be tough to beat their own Shoot Out!!!

Sounds like a heck of a year from GKF. Another expensive one for me!!! I may have to try to pick 'em all up and put 'em through their paces. Can't wait to see pics, especially the new POWER DROP. If anybody finds out any more please post???

GKF is calling the POWER DROP, the WORLDS FIRST &quot;bow driven&quot; rest!!! It indeed sounds interesting and for some reason I don't think GKF will let us down!!!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>

This is the SAME 'infomercial' that popped up on another forum posted by the same group of people. Over there they also mentioned &quot;The worlds FIRST &quot;bow driven&quot; rest!!!&quot; and I responded as follows:
&quot;When I first read this thread I thought it was an 'infomercial' and that I'd pulled up the wrong page. Then I realized that it was &quot;good news for all the GKFers here on *****!!!&quot; I am quite relieved that this place hasn't changed.

When you make statements like &quot;The worlds FIRST &quot;bow driven&quot; rest!!!&quot;&quot;, you surely must realize that this statement is totally erroneous. I have to completely agree with 'tech' that &quot;the ZE-REST has been on the market for A LONG TIME and it is definately a bow driven rest.&quot; The only person who could say otherwise would have to be someone who has never seen a MZE; and, that would be unusual.

Please &quot;GK Tech, help a brother out and drop a few more hints???&quot; I know that I'm not in the 'brotherhood' and will have to wait for the AMO Show to critique your new products. I do certainly hope that you have a winner this time.

You can rest assured that I will hold any comments UNTIL I test any product.&quot;

Len, Len, Len.... rag, rag, rag, do you think you will ever let a GKF topic slide by without a slam??? I mean, the reason this is posted on all the boards is because as soon as I found out I figured there would be all kinds of shooters that wanted to know about it. Based on all the emails and PMs I've got over these new products, I'd say A LOT of people want to know about 'em (enough to scare Muzzy)!!!

Granted, I certainly don't know everything about the rest but I'm telling everything the GKF rep is telling the Dealers. The rest is obviously a totally new concept featuring a new patented tecnology, but instead of being interested in another awesome GKF product your MZE dedication has clouded your mind. It's cool that you are loyal to Muzzy but many of us have to BUY our rests with OUR hard earned money!!! I wish I could get a deal from GKF for attacking MZE everytime it is brought up!!! No, really I don't, because that's not the way it should be.

If someone has a better idea and can build a superior product than I say &quot;build me a better mouse trap&quot;. But to remain dedicated to a particular product and design because someone is giving you free product or a kickback is wrong for you to do on these boards.

I feel you are distarcting and possibly hurting an archers/hunters odds of improving their equipment and their shooting thru your constant anti-GKF posts. What gives man??? I think you tried this tactic with the Mirage last year too??? That didn't seem to deter the Mirage from becoming the most popular Fallaway on the boards, now did it???

IL - Cornfed, the questions I'm going to ask are meant in a sincere manner and aren't meant to attack anyone. I usually shy away from these 'debates' but this one has raised my hackles a bit. Why is it product bashing when Len questions the statement about the Power Drop being the first bow driven rest? I too want to know why the Power Drop is a bow driven rest and the Muzzy isn't. IMHO, its a no brainer that the Muzzy ZE is a bow driven rest and has been around longer than the Power Drop. The statement about &quot;hurting an archers/hunters odds of improving their equipment and their shooting&quot; is just plain off the wall. How could anyones opinion of a product do this? Finally, as to the Mirage being the most popular rest on the boards, all I can do is ask &quot;What boards do you look at?&quot;

First off thanks Il_Cornfed for sharing this with everyone on the forums. The AMO show is right around the corner & we will get to see all the new products! I can't wait to see what Mathews has coming by the way as well as the new Power Drop from GKF.

My dealer has filled me in some on the power drop and I just wait to see it. sounds very interesting, we all know we get a little goo goo eyed when AMO time is slmost here!

Len actually almost any fall away is bow driven in some way shape or form. even by using a cable to raise & lower the arm of a rest like the Mirage or Trophy Taker you are using a mechanical process to make it work. The same with the Muzzy, Trap Door, etc.

I will defend GKF in that they can use &quot;buzz words&quot; to decripe their new products just the same as Muzzy or any other company can. As we all know Mathews uses buzz words to show a point. Sometime these points may be debatable but in the end they are used to show an original idea even if based on a previous concept. Really if you get down to it Muzzy din't invent the MZE to begin with, they purchased the rights to the original concept. the name at this moment isn't in my brain, sorry. Nothing against Muzzy a lot of companies buy a product that is a good idea but for some reason just isn't making it on it's own. I think more than anything GKF is using a play on words to show they have an originl concept for fall away rests with the power drop.

I do agree with IL-Cornfed that perhaps this isn't the place or time to debate the concept or to try and say who is better type of post. When the product hits the market then we can all take a look & decide for ouself. At that time lets debate but right now lets just look at this as information being passed along. your welcome to do the same for Muzzy, NAP, or any other company out there.

IL-Cornfed: Please, let's get the facts straight. I did not nor would I &quot;rag&quot; on GKF or any other company. I merely state the facts as I see them and that is usually based on extensive tests. Also, I did NOT slam GKF. I merely stated that the information that you were trying so eloquently to transmit in your post was not correct. I stated that your post sounds like an 'infomercial' and that's my personal opinion to which I'm entitled. Neither did I slam GKF or rag on that company. What I did was question comments made by you.

You have every right to &quot;post(ed) on all the boards&quot; and I have the right to post where I see incorrect information and offer opinions based on whatever test data that I have gathered. Your accusations again fail to relate the numerous times that I've stated how good a company GKF is and how I rely on them for those products. I checked my stock tonight before I posted to determine where they stand in my selection of rests. FYI, I have 24 of their rests in stock, 35 NAP products, 22 Bodoodle rests, 28 HHA rests and 19 MZE's. There are also about 4 other manufactures rests that we stock that total about 25 more. The fact that I found major faults with the GKF Mirage rest really put us on different sides of the issue, even though I praise GKF's other products. I think this is very narrow-minded of you and some others.

Then you questioned my dedication. Let me set you straight about my 'dedication' - it is to my customers. My customers rely on me not to be a parrot for any company and to test the products myself so that they get the 'straight scoop'. They know that I will not just say something is 'this or that' but will prove it with data and/or examples. As I have said in our other discussions on the other forum, I have prodded Muzzy quite a few times about their product and pointed out areas where I felt it could be improved. I am not 'loyal' to Muzzy or any other company and I certainly resent your implications. You should be very careful about making implications that are false because you could be called upon to present facts about such implications.

My posts are NOT &quot;anti-GFK&quot; nor are they pro-Muzzy. For you to insinuate otherwise is without basis or understanding of what is being iterated. I could reverse your positional statements on this subject and many would surely be astounded by the outcome.

Moonge: You are wrong about &quot;almost any fall away is bow driven in some way shape or form.&quot; The use of a cable or string is to elevate the rest. The rest is then pulled down by a spring which is NOT bow driven. Admittedly it is a &quot;mechanical process&quot;; but, that process is completely independent of the action of the bow with the exception that the cable or string is relaxed to allow the spring action to evolve. The action of the MZE cannot take place unless the cable guard moves and then the arm off the cable slide 'drives the arrow rest down. Get it? - &quot;bow driven&quot;.

Muzzy bought the manufacturing rights to the rest design from Joe Angeloni. I know that Joe is still very much involved in any design changes and I'm sure still holds the patent. What is wrong with a workable design/manufacturing relationship? Muzzy has never tried to be secretive about this matter so I don't get your point.

NOTE: I do apologize to the forum and its members for getting a little firm on this post. The attacks made against my character are vicious, unfounded, and totally erroneous.
