Hmm..well as I've said I belive in the 2K3 Bowtech thread..I think it's time for change...and we are starting to see that.

You've got a major player (Hoyt) bringing out a "new" hybrid technology, when they have basically been following along like everyone else for the past few years.

You've got the "Upstart Newcomer" (Bowtech) putting out new dual cam designs, and more importantly, PROMOTING them. They have been running ads for the 2K2 BKII for awhile now. Several of their new bows are dual cam designs.

This IMO is where the market is going..hybrids and duals. There just does not seem to be any way around the quirks of the single-cam without creating some other problems.

I think otherwise some trends we have seen will bounce back from the "extreme" and "smooth out" a bit as they are already doing. Things like the super short A2A bows are giving away to the more moderate lengths (34 to 35 inches on avg). Mass weights will go up a bit from the extreme lows of 3Lbs and under (bare bow) and settle in the 3.5 to 4 pound range. Brace heights I thing will still fluctuate a bit. I don' think we will ever see the days of the sub 6" brace height again (thank god), but I also don't think that 9" is going to become mainstream..the 7.25 to 8" range will remain dominant and the speed bows will stay inthe 6.25 to 6.5" range as they are now.

I think like always the majority of manufacturers will just kind of follow along...do the copy thing. I don't see that ever changing..most companies just do not have the resources or engineers to break the molds, and lead the packs.

I rally don't see alot of changes other than a flurry of new cam designs (There are already rumors of PSE unveling a new cam system at the AMO show...Browing has the Zero cam..Hoyt's cam and a half, Darton's refinement of the CPS, etc..)

As far as top sellers?

DC PAT for sure will be a hit, though I would not rule out the new EXVFT and possibly even the Blackhawk either (very good price point, high brace, many folks still love those dinky bows)

Hoyt's RazorTec will bump off the HavocTec but the CyberTec will remain a strong seller.

PSE's New Primos bow..it looks good, has great specs, and now PSE can put it in the mass merchant catalogs. Every PSE dealer I know is PISSED OFF about it though (the Primos was a pro-shop only model), so PSE better hope it does well with the mass merchants. Otherwise PSE's new lineup is pretty, well..flat.

Matt McPherson is a smart guy..he may very well have an ace up his sleeve..don't count him out. The Legacy and Q2 will continue to sell well regardless.

I think the new Martin Cougar III will do very well if the price point is still good..especially for the mass merchants.

Bear/Jennings/Buckmaster might very well come out with another good price point bow ala the BM2K and G2/G2XL...

I think those are the only people to really look at for top sellers. Most of the other manufacturers just do not have the saturation that these companied do or will have.

PA, are you really going to sell your Razortec? Black Frog, do you think Darton will have a different riser on the new bows or will they be a retro Mav., Fury, Cyclone? I'd like to see a new dual cam Darton as well. Also will Darton be dropping the Proline like I read somewhere?
