Twisting the string to shortern draw length?
#1
Guys,
can anyone give me info on this? One Pro-Shop says it is ok and the next says no.
The Bow27in with a loop (loop maybe can be re-tied and made shorter)it is a justlittle to long just wondering if it is ok to twist the string to take some lenght out of it. I here people do that all the time I just want to know if it really is OK???

It's fine to do but I would try to keep the adjustments as little as possible. Most cams now days allow you to adjust within 1/2". I'd use the cam adjustments when possible and twist the string just to get the fine adjustment between increments. An old rule of thumb was not to twist it more than an inch shorter (don't know where it came from but it seems to be good sense - maybe from when wheels had a 1" adjustment increment).

that statement is rite you can either twist up the string or let twist out of the cable, either way it's going to affect your brace ht, ata, once you get it where you want it measure everything and write it down for future ref.

for a very small amount, yes, its fine. maybe you'll get 1/8" out of it. but, you're going to be changing your cams position. its fine to do that a little bit, but not an inch. your cam will be way out of position. if you need more than 1/8" you really need new cams or a different cam module.
