I avidly shoot my bow but have seen so many different ways people shoot. I am not sure if there is a perfect spot to touch your nose the string. I see some people touc hthe point of their nose and others the side of it. I use a kisser button so my anker point is the same every time but am not sure about the nose placement. Any tips to help my accuracy

i would also like any practice tips to improve my accuracy, as with other sports there are many tips and methods to improving onself such as in football, baseball and others so i dont think this wil be any different, thanks for all your help, im trying to take in as much knowledge as i can from you guys! I am 18 and have killed many big bucks with shotgun/muzzleloader but have yet to kill a monster with a bow, partly due to accuracy at a distance. Thank you so much!

It doesnt really matter as long as you do it consistantly. I keep the string slightly to the right of the middle of my nose. I've found that if you dont have a peep, make absolute positively sure that you keep the pressure on the string, and where the string touches your nose consistant.

unless you have a long ata bow, its not a great idea to put your nose on the string fwiw. usually the only way to accomplish it with today's hunting bows is to crook your neck, and that's bad mmmmmkay.

With the length of my nose I believe I could still get my nose on the string of a 31" a-a bow.[:-]
You would be surprised at how much better and more consistant your anchor would be if you got rid of the kisser and just used the corner of your mouth and the end of your nose.
Find a consistant spot to put your release hand and you will be amazed.I myself use my jaw bone.If you look at what most pros are doing, you will see theydon't use kissers, reason, they are too big and therefore, less consistant. That being said,I saw a picture of Dan Mccarthy and he was using a kisser. He is the only pro I have seen using one BUT he is also winning everything in the ASA right now.Just goes to show it is a personall choice but you don't know untill you have tried both.
Basically what I am sayig is to experiment and see what works best for YOU.

thanks for all the help guys, yeah my length is real long and i dont need tocroo my neck really to touch the end of my nose. Tonight bad stuff happened, it was 14 degrees here in jerseyand i was forced to wear aot of gear... too much in fact. I drew back on a 130 class 8 point and my kisser button and usual knock point was being blocked my the collar of my jacket, causing me to miss the shot..........

I dropped the kisser button a few months ago and did not see a drop in accuracy, in fact I think it improved.
I anchor with the knucle of my index fingure under my ear at the jaw bone, I make sure the string istouching the middle of my nose and the sight itis centered in the peep.
Seems to work well for me

I have found that it does not matter where your anchor point is at. As long as it is somewhere where you arerelaxed and you can get it in the same exact spot everytime. A lot of the shooters I shoot with in IBO and NAA use their nose as an anchor but I usemy one knuckle to the jawbone (backtension release) when I'm shooting.
