To say that it is impossible to hunt SE VA without dogs is a lie.
But that would require a hunter to exit their truck, and step off the hard surface road.
D'oh!!!

That's going to be pointless as their handpicked (stacked deck) people will say otherwise. This is how one skews the whole process by leting those decide that are biased or will follow your agenda. Hey lets pick some convicted sex offenders and murders for the parole board? This mix they have picked in no way represents hunters in VA. 1/3 of the state is zero dog chasing. Is 1/3 non dog hunters? And if you have a known illegal dog hunter in the mix how many more are in there?

A FYI I have emails from this person and in his own words admits to running illegally on deer and goes on to state that the game warden was there and said it was ok to train out of season. Which warden was it? How is he qualified to advise the state on anything? Too much right now to even put into words on their so called advisory committee.

I`m still gonna write again......I Vote......I own land and I Hunt....without dogs...............And there are plenty more of us in the state of VA then dog hunters......I don`t want to do away with dog hunting........just close all the loopholes.......and if all the loopholes are closed and they still break the law then it`s the dog hunters fault if hunting with a dog comes to an end.....

Let me pose a question or two to all of you that think that running dogs should be legal!

How do you feel about illegal immigrants cruising over the southern border of the United States?

Are there any loopholes that allow me to come into your home without your permission?

Do you think it is okay for a bird watcher/animal lover type to walk through your leased land while you are hunting, regardless of whether it is legal?

For those that fish, do you get pissed when a joyriding jet skier comes barreling by your boat interrupting your fishing?

How about this one: do you get upset when a deer jumps out in front of your vehicle and you then commence to turning a new vehicle into a wrecked vehicle?

All of this is to point out your idiocy of course. I've hunted many times and many different locations. Never have I found that I needed to disrupt anyone's hunt, trespass on anyone's land, cause unsafe driving conditions, or otherwise be a nuisance.

Your "traditions" are nothing more than holdovers from when aristocracy held in private, the whole of private property. Now that more than a handful own property, you need to respect those homeowners as much as you'd want to be respected.

So, are these not valid questions? Why do you think that I am stupid? For resurrecting an old thread and not starting a new one?

They are valid questions BUT not on this board which is for hunting and if you want to start a discussion why not start a new thread instead of one that is 5 years old. You Good luck on this posting.

Nice try but tell your buddies at PETA and HSUS you failed.

Really? I grew up in Rappahannock County and have hunted all of my life. Probably 50 or so deer and numerous bear, turkeys, squirrels, rabbits, plenty of groundhogs, coyotes and antelope in CO. I think you are really stretching for a justification to come at me in an open forum. I am nowhere close to being a PETA type. Just don't find chasing deer across others property is necessary for me to be able to successful! Don't need to stand on the roadside either to shoot a deer.
