Default looking for new hunting areas in Tennessee

i live in claiborne county and have been hunting here for years, butwith all the illegal killing of deer along with overhunting and disease, its not the greatest place to hunt anymore, so i was wondering what other counties in east tennessee would offer good hunting, can someone suggest a place. thanks

Lil Edd, go to www.tndeer.com and start asking. Navigate on the left "I'm Looking For" button, go to Hunters Corner, then Dee Talk Forum. Lots of good people on this site for Tennessee deer hunting information.

I live in middle Tn (cookeville) hunted areas in east tn Cumberland plateau hard place to hunt and see loads of deer. Maybe Van Buren, we too have been hit hard with EHD some place 50 to 70 percent deer herds lost I hearing from TWRA.

BD - Same here in the Nashville area. My lease has been hit hard by EHD and I understand from others that many areas were effected badly. A local WMA TWRA agent indicated that he felt upwards of 50% of their herd had died off. The sightings on my lease have been minimal and I have passed on several deer that had obvious indications of severe stress, low weight, ribs and hips showing. No acron crop and the food plots burned up in the summer heat. Will take a few seasons to get back to normal around here.

I hunt in Morgan and Scott co in east tenn and i haven't found not one dead deer all summer or winter,my deer sightings where i hunt has actually gone up,especially in morgan co,im over run with does.Im not sure wher claiborne county is but i think it is to the east of me.If your looking to stay in Unit B to hunt i would suggest Morgan co,but if you want to drive one more county over and hunt in Unit A i would go to Cumberland or Overton.

Id say the best county in the East for big bucks would be Fentress.
